GENTICEL develops vaccine solutions for HPV-infected women before their disease evolves to cervical cancer.
The lead investigational vaccine, ProCervix, is a bivalent therapeutic vaccine for individuals infected with the most common oncogenic genotypes, HPV 16 and/or HPV 18, which cause approximately 70% of cervical cancers worldwide. A dose-escalating phase I clinical trial of ProCervix in the target population started in July 2010 and has finished recruitment of patients in September 2011. Results are expected in the 2nd Quarter of 2012.
The second product candidate, currently at the preclinical research stage, is multivalent HPV vaccine candidate that addresses the medical needs of an even larger patient group.
