GENTICEL’s internal activities are focused on the development of therapeutic vaccines for treatment of HPV-infected women before the disease evolves into cervical cancer.

The first product, ProCervix, is a bivalent vaccine for individuals infected with the most common oncogenic genotypes, HPV 16 and/or HPV 18, which cause approximately 70% of cervical cancers worldwide. A phase I/II clinical trial with ProCervix is scheduled for 2010.

The second product, currently at the preclinical research stage, is also an HPV vaccine candidate that addresses the medical needs of other patient groups.
